Visiting the UK? A Guide for International Guests

Coming to the UK for work, study, a family visit or a holiday? Eason Stays has whole homes and apartments across the North West, Yorkshire, the Midlands and the Suffolk coast. You get a kitchen, Wi-Fi and space to spread out, which often suits a longer trip better than a hotel room, and you book direct with us in pounds sterling.

Where our homes are, and the nearest airports

Before you travel

  • Visas and the ETA: many visitors now need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the UK. Check what applies to you on GOV.UK and, if you need one, apply for an ETA before you travel.
  • Plugs and power: UK sockets take type G plugs (three rectangular pins) at 230 volts. Bring an adaptor, and a converter for devices that only run on 110 volts.
  • Money: the currency is the pound sterling (GBP). Contactless card payments are accepted almost everywhere.
  • Driving: traffic drives on the left. Visitors can usually drive on a valid licence from home for a limited time; check the rules on GOV.UK.
  • Health and emergencies: call 999 in an emergency, or 111 for urgent medical advice that is not an emergency. Visitors may be charged for NHS hospital treatment, so travel insurance is strongly advised.

Why stay in a serviced home

  • A full kitchen, so you can cook and keep to your own routine.
  • Separate bedrooms and living space, sleeping from 2 up to 12 guests.
  • Wi-Fi in every home, and free parking at many.
  • Stays from a few nights to several months, with longer-stay rates on many homes.
  • One team to contact before and during your stay.

Booking and paying

Book any home direct on our booking site, where prices are shown and charged in pounds sterling. Your bank converts the payment, and some cards add a foreign transaction fee. For long stays, groups, or if you need an invoice, contact the team.

If our homes are fully booked on your dates, tell us what you need and we will try to source a suitable home from other local hosts, confirming the details with you before anything is booked.

Questions from international guests

Can I stay for a month or longer?

Yes. Many guests stay for several weeks or months, and some homes offer a discount on longer bookings. Whether you can stay that long in the UK depends on your visa or ETA, so check that first.

How do I get into the home when I arrive?

We send check-in instructions and a guest guide for your home before you arrive, so you know exactly where to go.

Do I need a car?

Not in the cities, where trains, trams and buses are good. A car helps for the Peak District, the Suffolk coast and some suburban homes, and many of our homes have free parking.

Can you help if I am travelling with a large family or group?

Yes. Our largest homes sleep up to 12, and we can book more than one home in the same area.
